Taking the next step can feel daunting. Our Transition programme is here to make sure no young person has to face it alone.
Who is it for?
Our Transition programme is designed exclusively for young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). We understand that the journey from education into the wider world looks different for every learner, which is why everything we do is built around the individual, not a one-size-fits-all timetable.
How the programme works
The programme runs three days a week, 10am to 3pm, delivering 15 hours of learning per week across a full academic year. Sessions take place in a small, supportive group setting with 1-2-1 learner-led tuition and bespoke packages tailored to every young person.
Alongside their vocational qualification, all learners work towards Functional Skills in English and Maths, available from Entry Level 1 right through to Level 2 — giving them the core skills that every employer and further education provider looks for.
Vocational qualifications are available as an Award, Certificate, Extended Certificate or Diploma, matched to each learner's specific needs, interests and goals.

Two clear pathways
Every learner follows a pathway tailored to where they want to go next.
Pathway to Further Education
For learners who want to move into college or further training, this pathway provides structured support in exploring local colleges, training providers and vocational courses. Learners receive personalised guidance on selecting the right course, visit settings in person to build confidence and familiarity, and develop the independence and practical skills needed to thrive in a new learning environment. A key focus is building resilience and the day-to-day routines that further education requires.
Pathway to Employment
For learners who are ready to explore the world of work, this pathway focuses on the real skills employers need — teamwork, communication, time management, problem-solving and workplace professionalism. Learners explore local employment opportunities, take part in supported volunteering and work experience, and develop their CV, job application and interview skills in a practical, hands-on way.

Vocational subject areas
Learners can choose from a wide range of vocational subjects, studied at a level that suits their profile and aspirations:
Animal Care · Business and Administration · Catering · Charity and Voluntary Sector · Cleaning · Construction · Creative Skills · Customer Service and Contact Centres · Hair and Beauty · IT · Motor Vehicle Maintenance · Retail · Sport and Leisure
Units are carefully selected to support each learner's individual interests, work-related goals and future ambitions.
